Positions & Responsibilities

Lifeguard ($16.50+)

Responsibilities

Perform usual lifeguard duties at a public swimming pool.
Provide explanation and clarification of pool procedures to patrons.
Maintain respect and discipline.
Enforce pool rules and regulations, resulting in a safe and fun environment.
Rescue swimmers in distress and administer First Aid and CPR when necessary.
Assist with general maintenance and clean-up of the facility.
Instruct CRPD classes in diving, swimming, lifesaving, and water sports.
Administer deep water test to swimmers of questionable ability.
Participate in training sessions.
Qualifications
At least 16 years old
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) within six months of hire
CA Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance are required if driving on behalf of the district.

Lifeguard II ($17.10+)

Senior Lifeguard ($17.72+)

Responsibilities

Performs duties of a Lifeguard II.
Assists in staff training and in-service sessions.
Monitors and facilitates staff breaks and rotations during public swims.
Tests and documents daily water chemistry readings.
Assists in general pool operations and aquatics programs.

Qualifications

At least 18 years old
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
Water Safety Instruction (WSI) Certification
Minimum of 500 hours of lifeguarding experience
First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) within six months of hire
CA Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance are required if driving on behalf of the District

Assistant Pool Manager ($18.27+)

Responsibilities

Performs the duties of a Senior Lifeguard.
Provides explanation and clarification of pool procedures.
Maintains organization and control of the pool and programs.
Assists with office paperwork and staff training.
Enforces pool rules and regulations for the public and staff.
Qualifications
At least 18 years old
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
Water Safety Instruction (WSI) Certification
Minimum of 1000 hours of lifeguarding experience.
First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22) within six months of hire
CA Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance are required if driving on behalf of the District
