Bio

Nellie Cusworth has lived in the Conejo Valley for over 40 years. She is an advocate for open space, an avid hiker and enjoys learning about the native plants and animals in our local mountains. She served on the Board of Directors for the Malibu Creek Docents and oversaw their education program for several years. She also has been a National Park volunteer.

Preservation of history is important to Nellie. She has been a volunteer docent at the Stagecoach Inn Museum for 20 years. Some of her involvement has included supervising the new volunteer training, and producing museum theater productions. She is also a volunteer at McCrea Ranch and is the CRPD representative for both the Stagecoach Inn Museum and The Chumash Indian Museum.
Having raised five children in Thousand Oaks, Nellie understands the value of having neighborhood parks. Through her experience as a public school teacher for over 25 years, she recognizes the importance of the educational, recreational and enrichment programs provided by CRPD for our community. She served as a volunteer for Young Artists Ensemble for many years.
Nellie is committed to the continued excellence that the residents of Conejo Valley have come to expect from CRPD. She and her husband, Harvey, live in Thousand Oaks and continue to enjoy our parks and open space with their grown children and grandchildren.
