| Ways to Support Therapeutic Recreation
Volunteer
Volunteers are a very important part of therapeutic recreation services. Volunteers contribute 3,000 hours of service annually. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available for those ages 13 and older, including students who need service hours. The Therapeutic Recreation Unit offers an outstanding internship program for college students majoring in therapeutic recreation and seeking state certification. A volunteer application is required.
Financial Contributions
Therapeutic Recreation programs are supported through general fundraising, specifc program sponsorships, grants, and private and business donations. Conejo Valley Therapeutic Advisory Council
The Conejo Valley Therapeutic Advisory Council provides advocacy, financial and volunteer support to Therapeutic Recreation Services. Members of this working committee represent various aspects of the special populations served by the Therapeutic Recreation Unit.
