DescriptionIn 2002, the City of Thousand Oaks and Conejo Recreation and Park District entered into a cooperative agreement for the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley and CRPD's administrative offices to be housed in the hillside building, which is adjacent to the Nationial Park Service Visitor Center for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. It is home to the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, which offers cultural programs including the award-winning youth theatre company, The Young Artists Ensemble, as well as Teen Summer Musical, classes and workshops in visual and performing arts, community theatre, music and dance events, special performances and gallery showings.
