Dial-A-Ride
  • The City operates a door-to-door Dial-A-Ride program for passengers 62 years of age or older, or for those who hold an ADA (Americans with Disabilities) card.  With Dial-A-Ride you can receive transportation to do errands, go shopping, or for medical appointments.
  • You must have a Dial-A-Ride card to use this service.

F.O.O.D Share (Surplus Food)
  • To be eligible applicants must: Complete a FOOD Share Application, Provide proof of age 60 or over, provide proof of total monthly income: Single: $1,215 or less, cash assets of $2,000 or less, or Married:  Combined income $2,257.50 and cash assets of $3,000 or less.  To obtain an application please call (805) 983-7100 ext. 133 or (click here) to print an application to mail in.

Senior Concerns Adult Day Center
  • Senior Concerns Adult Day Center serves the community’s special-need seniors by improving their quality of life and offers affordable programs for older adults who cannot be left at home alone.

Thousand Oaks Council on Aging
  • Meetings: 1:00pm on first Wednesday each month, excluding July and August.

  • This advisory body to the Thousand Oaks City Council is comprised of senior citizens to make recommendations on matters of concern to seniors.
  • Council is comprised of Nine Commissioners (must be 60 years of age or older and City of Thousand Oaks residents).
  • Commissioners serve two year terms.
  • Meetings are open to the public and broadcast live on Channel 10.

Thousand Oaks Transit

Used Pharmaceutical & "Sharps" Disposal
  • Proper disposal of expired or unwanted pharmaceuticals and used "sharps" (needles, syringes, and lancets) is vital for the safety of our population and environment.
  • The Goebel Senior Adult Center has free "biohazard" containers and and free, postage paid, pre-addressed envelopes for pharmaceuticals available to be picked up at the reception desk.
