How do I register for class?
1) Go to our website (www.crpd.org/aquatics)
2) On the left side click on the “learn to swim” tab
3) From there you can search for a specific class or see all the classes we offer
Is ______ class open?
You can check class availability online by going to our website www.crpd.org/aquatics then search for the specific class by name or class number. If a class is full, put yourself on the waitlist for no cost and then we will call you if a spot opens up.
Does cost money to be on a waitlist?
No

How do I and can I request a teacher?
Yes, you can request a teacher, but we can’t guarantee they will teach that specific session but we try to accommodate to the best of our ability.
Talk to a pool manager and tell them the name or type of teacher you request 1 week prior to a session starting.
Can I get a refund?
A. General
1. This policy applies to all District-sponsored activities and special instruction classes.
2. Refunds are returned to the customer in the same manner that the original registration was paid, i.e., if you paid via credit card then the refund will be credited directly to your card; if you paid cash, your refund will be returned by mail within two (2) to four (4) weeks of request.
B. Cancellation by the Participants
1. A full refund will be granted if the District is notified at least one (1) working day prior to the start of the program activity.
2. A refund will be granted on a pro rata basis if the District is notified prior to the second meeting of the activity.
3. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GRANTED AFTER THE SECOND MEETING.
4. Refunds for medical reasons will be granted on a pro rata basis subject to written certification of such reasons by a physician.
5. Refunds (less cancellation fee) will be granted to sports leagues and tournament teams prior to the final confirmation of team schedules. Refunds will not be granted after team schedules have been established.
6. A $5 cancellation fee per person, per activity will be assessed for each Aquatics class/program.
C. Cancellations by the District
1. A full refund will be made in the event an activity is cancelled by the District prior to the starting date.
2. A partial refund will be made on a pro rata basis if the activity is cancelled prior to the conclusion of the program.

Questions regarding pool use
What are you pool hours?

What’s the difference between lap swim & rec swim?
Lap swimming is for people who want to use the pool for exercise to swim back and forth and do laps.
Recreational swimming is when the pool is open for Recreational swimming, this is a time when families and children come to the pool to play. We try to have 2 lanes available for lap swimming during rec swim.

Can I come in and swim early?
No, Other classes are being conducted or a lifeguard is not on duty.
Are you affiliated with the university?
No, we are only on their campus. We are run by Conejo Recreation and Park District.
Can I swim in the “big pool” (CLU’s pool)?
Only if you are a student or staff member there. They have different operating hours than we do, check with them to see what they are.
Are students/Staff (CLU) free?
No, if you show your student ID it is $1 instead of $2.

Is the pool handicap accessible?
Yes, we are able to assist people who are handicapped with a lift device. If you need to use this device, please notify the pool 24 hours in advance so we are able to accommodate you.
Is pool available for birthday parties?
Yes. You can have a party when the pool is open to the public (during recreational swim time) or a private party when the pool is closed to the public. The rates for both can be found on our website www.crpd.org/aquatics under the “groups/parties” tab.
What are the rates for your birthday parties?
The rates vary depending if you want a party when the pool is open to the public or have a private party. Also the number of people attending the party affects the rate.

What temperature is the water?
We keep the water between 82°- 84°
Is your pool chlorine or salt?
It is chlorinated.
Where are you located?
We are on California Lutheran University’s campus in the northwest corner of Mount Clef Blvd. and Olsen Rd. We are the smaller of the two pools.
From south of Thousand Oaks on the 101—Take the 23 and exit Olsen Road. (Follow the signs to CLU). Turn Left onto Olsen Road, then turn right on Mount Clef Blvd. Left into the parking lot.
From north of Thousand Oaks on the 101. Exit Lynn. Turn left. Lynn turns into Olsen Rd (follow the signs to the University). Go under the bridge, Turn left on Mount Clef Blvd. Turn left into the parking lot.
Do I have to pay even if I’m not swimming?
Memorial Day – Labor Day – Yes- There is a $2.00 admission fee at all pools.
Off season- No
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we take MasterCard, Visa, American express, and Discover
Is my child required to wear a swim diaper?
If he/she is not potty trained yes. Swim diapers are available for purchase for $1.00 in the office should you forget to bring one.

Do you provide towels?
No
Do you have lockers?
Yes, however you need to provide your own lock if you want to lock your belongings.
How old must a child be to come to come swim alone?
7 years old
Can I bring my own floatation devices/can kids wear floaties?
Allowed-Noodles, swimsuits with floatie built in, ring tubes but must stay with child
Not Allowed- water wings, water guns
Is there a snack bar?
No but there are vending machines with snacks and drinks
I can bring my own food in?
Yes
Is there a lost and found?
Yes, ask a lifeguard when you come to the pool to assist you in finding any lost belongings.
Does the pool close if it rains?
Occasionally. If there is lightening or thunder the pool will close immediately. If you are unsure call the aquatics rain line at 805 381 1237. If it is sprinkling the pool will most likely remain open.

Can I swim while my child is taking lessons?
No, there is not enough room in the pool to accommodate lap swimmers during lessons.
Can I stay and swim with my child after their lessons?
Yes, as long as the pool is open to the public to swim at that time. You will need to pay the $2 fee to use the pool for the time you are staying to swim and for the number of people who will be on deck.
