| Summer 2012 - This & That Check out our new full-color Summer brochure. With technology improvements, the District is able to print and deliver a more colorful brochure at essentially the same price as our former 2-color brochure.
Summer is our busiest season and we love it! Somewhere in this brochure, there is a camp, class, program, or special event where your child can learn something new, meet a new best friend, and have tons of summer fun. Sit down with your kids, this program guide, and some post-its to narrow down your summer camp choices and pick some classes together.
We are now hiring summer help to work as camp counselors, recreation leaders, and aides. Visit us at www.crpd.org/hr for details and application deadlines.
What’s up with those two stalled park projects? A contractor walked-off the job at Oakbrook Neighborhood Park and Rancho Conejo Playfields. The District is now working with a bonding company to get the work going again.
It’s budget time. The District’s primary revenue sources are recreation program fees and approximately 6% of the property taxes paid by Conejo Valley property owners. The Board and staff would like your input about our parks and recreation programs. Simply email us at parks@crpd.org or attend a Board meeting.
These are lean times; to help stretch tax dollars, we are looking for groups interested in partnering with us on park improvements. Community groups and sports organizations will find park improvement grant applications online under the Administration menu. Prior to submitting an application, please contact Tom Hare, Administrator of Parks and Planning at thare@crpd.org.
Refreshing Idea. Do you have a company or social group and need a little team building time or a unique and fun meeting location? Consider having your meeting in a park and save a little money. Weekday picnic area reservations are half the weekend rates (holidays excluded).
Wishing you and your family a bright and blissful summer! Jim Friedl General Manager |
