Health Insurance
Benefits
Medical, dental, and life insurance are offered.  A monthly allowance is provided by the District for use towards insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.  

    An additional allowance (Basic Needs Allowance) is provided for eligible employees. 

Retirement
:  The District participates in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS).  Employees hired after 12/4/09 participate in the 2% @ 60 retirement formula; employees hired prior to 12/4/09 participate in the 2% @ 55 retirement formula.  The District pays 5.2% of the employee contribution, and the employee pays 1.8%.  The District does not participate in Social Security.

Deferred Compensation:  Employees may voluntarily contribute to a 457 Plan up to the annual IRS limits.  There is no matching District contribution.


VisionEmployees may receive re
imbursement of up to $200 per fiscal year for expenses paid for vision care services.

Section 125 Plan:  These plans allow employees to pay for eligible expenses with pre-tax contributions (health care and dependent care expenses).

Employee Assistance Plan:  An EAP is available for employees and their dependents.

Wellness:  Employees may receive reimbursement of up to $15 per month for wellness programs such as gym fees, weight loss programs or smoking cessation programs.

Vacation:  Employee accrue vacation time as follows:

Holidays:  The District designates nine holidays.  In addition, three floating holidays are available.

Sick Leave:  Sick leave accrues at the rate of one day per month (96 hours per year).

Non-Industrial Disability:  In the event of non-industrial disability and following a 30-day elimination period, employees may receive up to 50% of pay (maximum of $475 per pay period) for up to six months.

Tuition Assistance:  Employees may receive reimbursement for job-related courses.

Employee Loans:  Loans are available for computer purchase and orthodontia expenses.
