Every year, the Board of Directors of the Conejo Recreation & Park District honor local businesses and individuals who have made a significant contribution of time, effort, or energy on behalf of recreation and parks in the Conejo Valley. The ceremony takes place each May at the Gratitude Circle at Conejo Creek North Park.
The Gratitude Circle is a partnership between Conejo Recreation & Park District and Play Conejo. The 30-foot diameter circle of natural stones is set into grade at a height to allow seating and incised at the cardinal points by steel panels. The panels provide space for inscribed plaques for recognizing and celebrating Board honorees and also community members and businesses as supporters of their local parks by monetary contributions to Play Conejo. It's located in a beautiful park setting at Conejo Creek North Park, behind the Thousand Oaks Library at 1379 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
